Birds of Gaza

Birds of Gaza is a collective art project to memorialise the children of Gaza. Participants are invited to make a bird + dedicate it to a child killed in Gaza. Conceived in the UK, the project encourages humans throughout the whole world to take part. It is accessible to ALL ages + abilities.

Here at Sìtheag, we will be hosting an installation of birds, created by those in the local community, who wish to participate.

How it works:

  1. Select a child to honour with your hand-made bird

  2. Make a bird + place your dedication

  3. Bring your bird to a member of the Sìtheag team, who will help you to hang it in the gallery space

The installation will remain in place until April, when we welcome our first solo artist exhibition.

Please come along to our free workshops, led by local artists. The next one is being led by Renuka Ramanujam on 2nd March 2-4pm. All materials are provided. This is a collective effort. It is not necessary to book your slot, but it would be great to get an idea of numbers, so please let us know, if you intend to come along.

Throughout the run of the project, we will be leaving out materials for visitors to create + add to the installation.

Participants may bring in their bird from home at any point, to be hung in the gallery space.   If you are making this elsewhere, here is the dedication list.
